Great Western Riesling
This Riesling is handpicked from the Garden Gully vineyard in Western Victoria which was planted in the 1890's. The vines are low-yielding and are of unknown clonal origin and produce intensely flavoured high acid fruit. Handpicked and trucked to the Yarra Valley winery, the fruit is then whole bunch pressed and racked to large (800L) French muids and left to ferment with indigenous yeasts. After 8 months on lees the final wine bottled unfiltered and unfined.
